I was born into a Moravian family. One of the Moravian traditions is eating. Some of the items are pastries and cookies. I picked up several sugar cakes. My grandmother made the best sugar cakes but these run a real close 2nd. Next time I will try some other items. Go there, I believe they give free samples on some items. ENJOY

Kind staff who make you feel very comfortable. They serve free samples of all flavors of the cookies which is a super nice idea especially if it’s your first time trying these cookies. Even if the Moravian spice cookies are the most famous, my favorite one was sugar cookies.
100 Years Of Baking With
Our Yelp Summer of Sweets Community Event at Wilkerson Moravian Bakery was truly one for the ages. Hosted in partnership with Yelp, the celebration brought the community together for an unforgettable tasting experience honoring both tradition and local flavor. Guests enjoyed two curated tasting flights featuring eight different snacks and beverages, including Wilkerson’s famous sugar cake, classic thin Moravian cookies, savory cheese straws, and other beloved bakery favorites.
The festivities continued with a hands-on cupcake decorating activity, complete with custom locally made toppers by Lynn W and signature Yelp sprinkles. In celebration of the bakery’s 100-year legacy, attendees raised champagne toasts and captured memories with festive props, gift bags, and a photobooth experience provided by RCS Entertainment. To round out the event, guests were treated to a deeper look into the rich history of Winston-Salem through the story of this remarkable family bakery and its iconic Moravian cookies—proving once again that taste tells the truth.
